Animations

CrateForge includes 11 unique animations that play when a crate is opened. Each animation provides a different visual experience for players. Set the animation per-crate in the crate's .yml file.

Animation Descriptions

CSGO

"The classic Counter-Strike case-opening experience."

A horizontal scrolling display of prizes, gradually decelerating until it lands on the winning prize. Familiar to most players from CS:GO/CS2 case openings.

• Style: Horizontal item scroll
• Duration: ~5-8 seconds
• Player feel: Suspenseful, rising tension as items slow down
• Best for: General use, familiar and intuitive for all players

ROULETTE

"Place your bets — the wheel decides."

A classic roulette-style spinning wheel that gradually slows and lands on the winning segment. Items are arranged around the wheel.

• Style: Circular spinning wheel
• Duration: ~6-10 seconds
• Player feel: Casino atmosphere, suspenseful
• Best for: Casino/gambling-themed servers

WHEEL

"The grand wheel spins before the crowd."

A larger, more dramatic version of the roulette — a full rotating prize wheel with a visual pointer indicating the winner.

• Duration: ~8-12 seconds
• Player feel: Grand, show-stopping
• Best for: Special events, legendary crates, watching in groups

QUAD

"Four panels flip simultaneously."

Four item slots are revealed simultaneously in a grid layout, each cycling through prizes before stopping one by one.

• Best for: Common/frequent crates, kit servers

A 3-reel slot machine animation. Each reel spins and stops independently, left to right, until the prize is revealed.

"Celebrate your victory with fireworks!"

Fireworks explode around the player as the prize is revealed, creating a celebratory atmosphere.

• Best for: Event crates, holiday crates, milestone rewards

CASCADE

"Prizes waterfall down until yours remains."

Prizes cascade downward like a waterfall, with items disappearing one by one until only the winner remains.

• Duration: ~6-8 seconds
• Player feel: Unique and satisfying, visually distinct
• Best for: Servers wanting something different from the standard scroll

"The bidding war decides your fate."

A countdown/auction-style animation where prize values count down until the winning prize is revealed at the final moment.

• Best for: Economy servers, auction-house themed servers

MYSTERY

"You won't know what you got until the last second."

A suspense-building animation where the prize is hidden behind question marks or mystery icons until the final dramatic reveal.
